Ketoconazole with ZPTO Shampoo – Ketoconazole is a medicated shampoo that is designed for the treatment of fungal infections of the scalp. The combination of two medications, Ketoconazole and ZPTO in this shampoo is used to treat certain conditions including seborrheic dermatitis (a type of stubborn dandruff), psoriasis, and others. It is offered with the brand name Zilzip Z at QndQ Derma.

This medicated shampoo is a combination of two medications; Ketoconazole (an azole antifungal drug) and ZPTO (Zinc pyrithione). This combined medication works by killing and stopping the growth of a certain type of fungus known as Malassezia furfur that infects the scalp which causes dry flaky skin on the scalp. The overgrowth of this fungus Malassezia causes dandruff on the scalp which is effectively treated with this shampoo. It destroys the cell membrane formed by fungi and prevents itching and irritation.

How to Use Ketoconazole with ZPTO Shampoo?

This medicated shampoo should be used as per the instructions of the doctor or the indications mentioned on the product label. To treat the scalp, apply the shampoo to the wet hair. Give a gentle massage to the scalp with this shampoo, lather it properly, and make the shampoo soak into the scalp. After getting it done, rinse it with water just like the usual methods. After shampooing, condition the ends if required. Rinse it off after a while and let it dry naturally. Use it once a day according to the prescriptions of the doctor or cosmetologist.
